Tips to Handle Importing Drawing File Error

1 min read

It is already known to our users that MiTS allows import from the drawing file. However, sometimes you may find that there are errors or issues when you try to import the drawing into the software. Below is one of the errors that you might encounter while importing the drawing file.

Explode or Purge #

Your drawing file might be too large or heavy for MiTS to process. It is advisable for you to purge or explode your drawing file first before importing into the software.

Detach External Reference File #

If your drawing file contains external reference files, delete all them first before importing the drawing file into MiTS. Use the XREF command and detach all of them if there are any external reference files.

Save as DXF File Format #

Sometimes, you may encounter errors when you try to import the drawing from .dwg file format. The easiest solution that you may try is to save as the drawing file in .dxf format. To save the drawing file as .dxf format, you may follow the guide here.

Delete Any Other Tab #

If you find that there are tabs other than your model, try to delete them first. If there are any other tabs such as layout tabs in your drawing file, it might be the reason why MiTS cannot import your drawing properly.
