Starting from MiTS 2.8 version, we introduce a few more types of licenses to accommodate the new working normal.
We improved upon the previous soft-lock license in 2.5 version, so now that the soft-lock and cloud license no longer depend on the machine hardware ID. The differences between the licenses we introduced are listed below:
Hardlock License | Cloud License | Soft-Lock License |
Modules, MiTS1, and MiTS 2 | Starting from MiTS 2.8.X.X | Starting from MiTS 2.8.X.X
|
Requires a physical dongle to be plugged into the USB port of the user’s machine to launch the software. | Requires user to login into the Cloud Account on Virbox User License Tool | Requires user to login into the Cloud Account on Virbox User License Tool and online-bind license to the machine before launching software |
For users who own both a cloud and a soft-lock license, you may register both licenses under one single username (email address). However, users will need to set the Cloud License as the default, following the steps here for the software to apply the correct license type. | ||
Temporarily bind to the machine where the dongle is plugged into | Temporarily bind to the machine as long as user is still logged into the Cloud Account | Temporarily bind the license to the machine |
Can be used on other machine to launch software, as long as the dongle is plugged into the USB port of the machine | Can be used to launch software on different machines, but requires the user to be logged out of the Cloud Account on the previous machine first | Can be used on another machine (Machine B) by online-unbind the current machine (Machine A) from the license through the Virbox User License Tool, similar to plugging and unplugging the physical dongle from a machine. To launch the software on another machine, users only have to log in to the account and online-bind to the license again. |
License is available for existing and potential users | This type of license is available for MiTS 2 training session and user with trial licences | Just like a normal hardware dongle, but instead of carrying the dongle around, you bind and unbind the |
