In MiTS, the road module outputs include the horizontal and vertical detailing. Other than separate horizontal and vertical detailing output, users are able to obtain the horizontal detailing together with vertical detailing in one model.
Output in Road Module #
Once the road modelling is completed, the Horizontal & Vertical Detailing will be available under the Output tab. However, notice that only the horizontal detailing is displayed in the output.

Steps to Include Vertical Detailing #
Below are the detail steps to make sure vertical detailing is also included.
- Firstly, we need to define window for the viewport. At the Input tab, click the ‘Define Window’ button and click once on the input screen (make sure the road project is selected).

- Input the start and end chainage in the new viewport pop up. You may set the output setting directly over here or change it in the spread input later.

- A viewport box will be created following the chainage setting and the window height.

- Now, go back to the Output tab and click on the Horizontal & Vertical Detailing button. Notice the vertical detailing is now included in the output.

Exporting Horizontal & Vertical Detailing Output #
Once the Horizontal & Vertical Detailing can be generated, the output can be directly exported by clicking on the ‘Export’ button available. You may change the file type accordingly.

You may also export the drawing from the viewport. To open the viewport, click on Horz. Vert. Detailing button > Layout > Tabs will be generated beside the Model. Further details on layout scale setting can be found in the Guidelines on Title Block.

Multiple Roads Case #
What if you have multiple roads under one project and you want to include all the vertical detailing together with the complete horizontal detailing? In this case, you may repeat the steps listed for each of the roads. The key is to select each of the roads when creating the viewport.
