Platform Level Verification #
The Platforms in MiTS will be synced as MesPltSlope or MesPlt (depending if the slope is excluded or included in the sync).
To compare the Civil 3D Surface synced to the MiTS Survey Points, users may refer to the article – How to check the levels of the Survey, Platform, or Surface synced?
MiTS Verify (Volume Comparison: MiTS vs. Civil 3D) #
TIN Surface Comparison #
Steps: #
- In Civil 3D, go to the MES Tab.
- Go to the MiTS Verify section and click on ‘TIN Surface’.

- Select the correct Base Surface and Comparison Surface.
- Note: Base should be the Ground Level based on the survey data, and the Comparison should be set to the platform surface.
- Click the ‘OK’ button.

- The software will display the cut-and-fill volume and compare it between MiTS and Civil 3D.

Detailed Surface Analysis #
TIN Volume #
Steps: #
- Go to the Genabler Tab and navigate to the Surface Analysis section.

- Click on the ‘Surface Details’ button, and the icon should be updated to ‘TIN Volume’ as in the image below.

- Set the Base and Comparison Surfaces accordingly.
- Note: Base should be the Ground Level based on the survey data, and the Comparison should be set to the platform surface.

- Click on the ‘Quantity’ button to display the cut and fill volumes computed by Civil 3D, which compares the base and comparison surfaces. Do note that once the TIN Volume Quantity is calculated, the volume surface will be triangulated as in the image below


- Click on the ‘CutFill Depth’ button. Specify the top-left corner of the Elevations Table.

- If you wish to clear the surface or the elevation tables generated, click on the ‘Clear Surface’ button.

Grid Volume #
Steps: #
- Go to the Genabler Tab and navigate to the Surface Analysis section.

- Click on the ‘Tin Volume’ button, and the icon should be updated to ‘Grid Volume’ as in the image below.

- Set the Base and Comparison Surfaces accordingly.
- Note: Base should be the Ground Level based on the survey data, and the Comparison should be set to the platform surface.

- Click on the ‘Quantity’ button to display the cut and fill volumes computed by Civil 3D, which compares the base and comparison surfaces. Do note that once the volume quantity is calculated, the volume surface will be displayed in grids as in the image below.


- Click on the ‘CutFill Table’ button. Specify the top-left corner of the Elevations Table.

- Users may also display the Elevation Label for each corner of the grids.

- If you wish to clear the surface, elevation tables, or the elevation labels generated, click on the ‘Clear Surface’ button.
