Fixing “Road Needs Closing” Errors with Close Road Autofix

When you’ll see this #

If a road’s start and end points are almost — but not exactly — coincident (closer than 0.001 apart) and haven’t been merged into a single closed loop, the Verification panel flags it:

The distance of start point and end point is < 0.001 but the points are not merged to
form a closed road.
Suggestion: Right-click this warning to merge the points and close the road.

This is common after tracing or importing a road alignment where the drawn start/end points don’t land on exactly the same coordinate.

Fixing it #

There are two ways to apply the fix:

1. Actions tab > Autofix. Runs the batch Autofix across all flagged issues in the project, including this one — see General MiTS UI for where the Autofix button lives on the ribbon.
2. Right-click the warning directly. In the Verification panel, right-click the “road needs closing” message and choose Resolve to fix just that one item, without running a full batch Autofix — the same pattern used for resolving non-planar platform warnings.

Either way, the fix merges the near-duplicate start/end point and closes the road into a single loop.

After closing the road #
