Overview #
This guide explains the review panel that may appear when importing survey points from a CAD drawing. The review panel allows user to check and verify survey points before they are added to the project. It will be opened when certain conditions are detected that require user’s attention and further review.
Starting an import #
- Open the Survey Point Import dialog (or the “Surveyor Point” tab of the All-In-One Import dialog).
- Select your CAD drawing as usual, and configure the required import settings (i.e: Elevation Range, Layers, Origin, Drawing Scale, etc.) on the right/settings side of the dialog.
- Click Import.

The review panel will be opened when MiTS identifies any of the following conditions:
- Survey points that fall outside the defined Elevation Range, or
- Survey points with no elevation (Z = 0.0 m), or
- Duplicate survey points.
A clean import (i.e.: None of the conditions above are identified) will skip this review panel and import the survey points immediately into the workspace. When one or more conditions are detected, the affected survey points can be checked under the review panel before the final import.
The rest of this guide explains how the review panel works when at least one of those three conditions is found.
The review panel #
If a review is required, the settings panel (RHS) is replaced in place by a review panel, and the Import button changes to Confirm Import. It lets the user know that the import requires a second confirmation after the flagged survey points have been reviewed. The CAD preview on the left stays visible and interactive, so the drawing can still be referred to while reviewing the survey points.

The review panel has up to three sections. Any section with nothing to report is hidden entirely.
Excluded By Elevation Range #
Lists every point that falls outside the elevation range configured.
- Tick Include anyway on a row to include that specific point in the import.
- Tick Include All / Exclude All to apply the same action to every row in this section at once. Can be used when all points should be included or excluded rather than reviewing each point individually.

Survey Points With Z = 0.0m #
Lists every point whose elevation is exactly 0.0m. Each row has a Keep checkbox (checked by default, meaning the point is imported as-is).
- Untick Keep on a row to drop that specific point from the import.
- Tick Keep All / Filter All Out to apply the same action to every row in this section at once. Can be used when all points should be included or excluded rather than reviewing each point individually.

Duplicate X/Y Clusters #
Lists all duplicate survey points with same X/Y location. Duplicate points are grouped into clusters to allow user to filter and decide which points to keep/import.
Some drawings may contain multiple survey points at (effectively) the same X/Y location, with different Z-elevations. Importing duplicate points may affect the accuracy of the cut and fill results.
The section has two grids:

Duplicate X/Y Clusters (top): Show survey point cluster, X/Y coordinates, number of duplicate points, minimum and maximum Z-elevation, and elevation difference for each cluster. Click the row to select the cluster.

Points in Selected Cluster (bottom): Show every individual point in the currently selected cluster, each with its own Keep checkbox.

For the selected cluster, you can tick/untick individual Keep checkboxes, or use one of the three buttons to resolve the cluster in one click.

| Keep Highest Z | Keeps only the point with the highest elevation in the cluster; unchecks the rest |
| Keep Lowest Z | Keeps only the point with the lowest elevation in the cluster; unchecks the rest |
| Average Z | Replaces every point in the cluster with a single new point at the averaged elevation |

If multiple clusters are to be resolved at once, use the three buttons next to “For all clusters” instead. It applies the same rule to every cluster in the list in one click:

Tip: You can mix approaches by resolving most clusters at once with the “for all clusters” buttons first, then click into one or two specific clusters afterward to fine-tune them individually.
Large datasets and “Show More” #
If a section has a very large number of rows (hundreds or more), the grid only loads 200 rows at a time for performance. In such case, a Showing X of Y label and a Show More button will appear below the grid. Click Show More to load the next 200.
This does not affect which survey points are imported; it only controls how many rows are loaded into the grid at once. Sections with fewer than 200 rows do not display these two controls.

Finishing up #
- Click Confirm Import after completing the review of all sections. This commits to the resolved/selected points to the final import.
- Click Back to Settings to discard the review (no survey points will be imported) and return to the normal settings panel. (e.g. if you want to change the elevation range and try again).

Known limitation #
Selecting a row or checking/unchecking a box is supposed to highlight the corresponding point(s) in the CAD preview on the left, so you can see exactly where they are in the drawing. At the time of writing, this highlighting does not appear reliably. You can still fully review and resolve everything using the grids and checkboxes described above. But the CAD preview may not visually confirm which points you are looking at yet.
