Default Network Catalog #
Network catalogs are machine-level settings. By default, Civil 3D employs the Default Metric Pipe and Structure Catalog at the machine level- so any drawings open on a machine will automatically refer to the default Civil 3D catalog’s path for its library files, even if the design was initially created with a different catalog.
While installing Genabler does add the dedicated Genieko library files to the machine’s hard drive, it does not automatically redirect Civil 3D to the new Genieko path.
To enable the Genieko network catalog, users must manually set the path by following the guide provided below.
How to upload the Genieko Catalog? #
Step 1: #
- Open a drawing file in Autodesk Civil 3D; it can be an existing or a new file.
- Go to the Genabler tab- If the tab is missing, please refer to the guideline here.

Step 2: #
- Navigate to the Gravity Catalog section.
- The current catalog employed is the Default catalog, as shown in the image below.

Step 3: #
- Under the Gravity Catalog Section, click on the ‘Default Catalog’ button.
- The software will throw an AutoCAD Message, “Genabler catalogs is not active. Restart for it to take effect“.

- Click OK. Under the Gravity Catalog section, the catalog button has been activated to Genabler Catalog.

Note: The current ‘Genabler Catalog’ has not yet taken effect. Restarting the application is required as per the AutoCAD message above.
Step 4: #
- Close the Autodesk Civil 3D application.
- Relaunch the application. Open any drawing file and the Genieko Catalog has taken effect.
