We’ve just released MiTS 3.3, resolving 264 issues raised by 38 companies. The full list of changes can be seen here.
A few of the additions we’d like to single out:
- Road design now comes with a detailed calculation report — the kind of breakdown you’d hand to an authority alongside the drawings, not just a summary table.
- SewNet now calculates velocity and capacity for partially full circular pipe flow using the Manning or Hazen-Williams equation, instead of always assuming the pipe runs full — either computed from the actual flow depth, or fixed to a user-specified proportion of the pipe diameter.
- Storage Coefficient (Cs) is now available for detention ponds under the Rational Method, following Hydrological Procedure 16.
- Clash Analysis now has a toggle to switch it on or off, and elements that fail a design check are highlighted in red directly in the model, so you don’t have to go hunting for what failed.
- Gravity pipe networks now get Profile View support — the long sections synced from MiTS now carry through as proper Profile Views in Civil 3D.
- Slope Classification now supports grouping by quantile, with a Z-level range filter for contour lines in the 3D View.
- Cut/Fill volumes can now be computed for a specified range.
- Users can now offset water reticulation pipes and sewers by right-clicking the pipe entity.
And the Genabler integration
And the one we’re most excited about: deeper integration between MCIntegrator and Genabler.
As we worked on MCIntegrator, we realized the limitation of the out of the box Civil 3D catalogs for both gravity and pressure networks. Civil 3D has a lot of part families and sizes, such as the sizes for U Drain, VCP pipes and manhole, but not all of them are available for the local market. It is primarily out of this motivation that civilwhiz was built — to provide Malaysian users a complete, constructable and usable sizes for pipes, structures, fitting and appurtenances.
The Genabler plugin is a completely separate plugin with functions beyond just curating pipe sizes; it also automates some of the common Civil 3D infrastructure workflows. It can be used as it is without MiTS software. But we want to take the automation a step further. We want to let MCIntegrator use it directly once it’s installed and activated/licensed. This means that from MiTS, we can choose the Genabler-related pipe category to do the design and obtain the detailed report, and then synchronize to Civil 3D with Genabler installed in order to make the BIM synchronization a one-shot process. For that, we’ve already defined the appropriate corresponding sizes in MiTS for the Genabler-related catalogs.

The Genieko manhole and pipe categories in MiTS now map straight to the Genieko Part Families in Civil 3D. MiTS 3.3 also adds a new 3D View for the circular cylinder Genieko manhole type, and the shape comes through identical between the two software after sync:
