Update in MiTS 3's Earthwork Module

MiTS 3 now features an upgraded Earthwork module with enhanced accuracy, faster processing, and improved performance. Optimized calculations provide precise volume estimates, while new tools make design adjustments more efficient.

Slope Template Configuration

The Slope Template Configuration feature lets users modify slope dimensions in project files via the project settings, platform editor, or wall line’s spread input. A slope template combines multiple slope sets, defining unique configurations. Users can create, edit, and apply templates, configure slope elements, and preview changes in real time.

Wall Line

The Wall Line feature in MiTS controls slope generation by acting as a boundary or enabling slopes where no platform exists. Users can design wall lines in Earthwork > Wall Lines > Edit, configure slope settings, and use them to stop slopes, create slopes from boundaries, or add retaining walls at toe slopes.

Boundary Selection in CutFill Contour/Slope Classification

The Boundary Selection feature in MiTS 3 allows users to view cut and fill areas and slope classification for specific boundaries in a project. After DTM calculation/Slope Classification, users can toggle off the Mesh feature and select individual boundaries in the RHS panel, filtering the cut and fill/slope classification area display to focus only on the desired boundary.

Berm Drain Customization

Users can design berm drains in various shapes, including V-Drain, Box Drain, Trapezoid, and U-Drain, using the Slope Template Configuration in the Platform Editor. Users can customize drain dimensions and placement to match project requirements.

By modifying slope settings and adding drain configurations, users can integrate different drain types into their designs. The system supports precise control over slope angles, heights, and positioning to ensure proper drainage. The newly configured berm drains can be visualized in both 2D and 3D views, improving design accuracy and efficiency.

Internal Road String

The Internal Road String tool in MiTS 3’s Earthwork module provides a fast and efficient way to model internal road platforms. This feature is ideal for residential and small development layouts where quick road creation is needed without defining superelevation and extra width according to standards.

Users can now sketch road centerlines using line, curve, and arc tools, allowing for flexible and intuitive geometry creation directly within the platform editor. The resulting road strings can be assigned elevations and widths to generate complete internal road platforms with minimal input.
