# How to create S-bend Pipe?

There might be times where users might need to create an S-bend pipe in their water reticulation design. In MiTS, it requires a simple modelling technique to design the S-bend pipes.

Follow step by step below;

You can refer to the example in our project file [here](https://largefilehosting.s3.ap-northeast-1.amazonaws.com/ProjectSharing/Client%20Project%20-%20Deana/230714%20-%2012482%20Project%20File-backup-2.10.42.0-140723121855.zip).

1. For now, what you have is just one long pipe which you wanted to create an s-bend pipe at a certain stretch. As for our example, we would like to create an S-bend pipe at pipe 2.

1. Now, we will first need to delete pipe 2. To do so you can go to;
   *Pipe > Select the pipe you want to delete at the spread input table > Click on “-” button*

![](https://i0.wp.com/mes100.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Image-2-2.png?resize=1080%2C573&ssl=1)

1. Next, what you have to do is to create two new nodes. To do so, go to;
   *Input > Node* *> Click anywhere in the input screen where you would like to locate your new node*

1. Next, you can adjust your node location under the spread input table. You can go to;
   *Input > Node > Spread Input table > “Location” column > Adjust the X and Y value*

![](https://i0.wp.com/mes100.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Image-4-2.png?resize=1080%2C573&ssl=1)

For this example, we will adjust node 5 and node 6 to a new location as follow;

| **Node** | **X** | **Y** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 5 | 2,216,880.892 | 5,312,570.568 |
| 6 | 2,216,879.868 | 5,312,572.685 |

*Note: You can always adjust the location of X and Y even after you have input the pipe*

1. Next, we will connect the pipe from node to node. To do so, go to;
   *Input > Pipe > Click on the first node > Click on the second node*

1. Now, we have successfully created an S-bend pipe in 2D view. When we view our S-bend pipe in 3D view, it does not seem to be like a perfect S-bend pipe yet. This is because we will need to adjust our Invert Level (IL).

1. To adjust the IL for the pipe you can go to;
   *Input > Pipe > Adjust the IL at the spread input table*

1. Now, you have successfully created an S-bend pipe.
